Jeunesse & Musique is the music school of Blonay and Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz. It offers children and young people a complete path, from musical initiation to instrumental tuition, group playing and the chance to play in a large ensemble, on favourable terms. Directed by Félix Bergeron, it relies on professional teachers and a committee of volunteers, and lives on fees, subsidies from the canton and the communes, support from the Société de Musique and donations.

Born from a fund in memory of Paul Hindemith
Jeunesse & Musique was founded in 1972, but its origin goes back to 1953, the year Paul Hindemith came to settle in Blonay. The composer spent there the last ten years of his life, entirely devoted to composition, and Blonay later welcomed the Hindemith Music Centre. In memory of her husband, Mrs Hindemith set up a fund for the commune of Blonay; its income made it possible to create a music school to promote the musical culture of children, soon open to Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz as well.
