Not open to visitors
Hubert Giraud (1920-2016), composer of “Sous le ciel de Paris” immortalised by Édith Piaf, but also of hits for Dalida, Mireille Mathieu and Nana Mouskouri, had chosen Montreux as his home base: he lived there for more than thirty years, until his death in January 2016. His house is a private property that cannot be visited, but his presence is a reminder that French song, too, has its roots on the Riviera.
