Clara Haskil (1895-1960), one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century, celebrated above all for her Mozart, took refuge in Vevey at the end of 1942 and lived there until her death. The town named a street after her, just as it hosts every two years the international piano competition that commemorates her. See the artist page for her full story.
