Grand-Rue 43, 1844 Villeneuve

On the Grand-Rue, at the far end of the lake, the Café-Théâtre de l’Odéon fits a whole season into a small room. Theatre takes up a good part of the bill, but music comes round regularly, and almost always in small line-ups: a singer and three musicians for Grupo Encanto, born of the meeting of three cultures and three continents; Jérémie Kisling alone at the piano, surrounded by a few guitars and a row of harmonicas; Alberto Malo and his Remoto project, between trip-hop, rock and electronica; Wave Trail, the dreamy English-language pop of multi-instrumentalist Maxime Duperrex; or ExO2, where Antoine Quinet mixes French, English and Berber. It is the opposite format to the Auditorium Stravinski: a few dozen seats, and the artist within arm’s reach.
