The largest theatre in Switzerland
Anchored in a century-old past, the Beaulieu site brings together exhibition halls — the largest reaching 19,000 m² —, a 600-seat auditorium and 12,000 m² of gardens in the heart of the city. Its jewel is the theatre, renovated in 2022: with more than 1,600 seats, a foyer on four levels and a terrace open to the lake and mountains, it is described as “the largest and most beautiful theatre in Switzerland”.
The home of Lausanne dance
The Beaulieu theatre is associated with great producers: the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, the Prix de Lausanne and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra hold their events here. It is here, on the country’s largest stage, that Maurice Béjart’s dance and the hopes of world ballet are shown, about thirty minutes from Montreux.
