Its aim is to foster musical practice in the region. It gives its annual concert in late January or early February, takes part in the Giron of the Aigle district and in various festivals, and rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 to 10 pm, beneath the Montreux-Est school.

Two historic societies joined (2000)

The Corps de Musique de Montreux-Clarens was born on 31 March 2000 from the merger of the Fanfare de l’Avenir, founded in 1912, and the Lyre de Montreux, founded in 1878. A wind band of about twenty-four musicians, it thus carries on nearly a century and a half of musical tradition in Montreux, with the aim of fostering the practice of music in the region.

Girons and music festivals

Having inaugurated its banner at the convention centre in December 2000, then its new uniforms during a procession from Clarens to Montreux in May 2002, the band organised the Giron of the Aigle district bands for its 5th anniversary, then the 26th Cantonal Festival of Vaud Bands in May 2008.

In June 2016 it organised the 34th Federal Music Festival alongside the Lyre de Vevey, the Chardonne-Jongny band, the Saint-Légier music society, the Amicale Fanfare de l’Automne of Blonay and the Écho des Alpes of Glion. Each year it gives its annual concert in late January or early February, and animates various events in and around Montreux.
