Address
Quai de Vernex, Montreux

This giant saxophone with colourful psychedelic patterns was installed on the quays in 2014, for the bicentenary of the birth of Adolphe Sax, the Belgian instrument maker born in Dinant in 1814 who invented the king of jazz instruments. An inscription at the foot of the work recalls the anniversary. A joyful nod in the town of the Montreux Jazz Festival: with the busts of Richard Strauss and Miles Davis close by, it forms on the Quai de Vernex a musical promenade between jazz and classical, at the water’s edge.
