Extending the Place du Marché out over the lake, this pier faces Lake Geneva and the Savoy Alps, a few metres from the Freddie Mercury statue. French pianist Sofiane Pamart performed “Solitude” there on a grand piano set straight onto the boards, in a recording released with the Montreux Jazz Festival. The spot is freely accessible all year round and remains, outside the festival, a quiet place to stroll.
