Three hundred metres above Montreux, at the Glion station where the Territet funicular and the Rochers-de-Naye train arrive, the old station buffet has kept its panoramic terrace and turned it into a stage. From May to September some fifteen concerts are given there, at midday or in the evening, always pay-what-you-wish: Afro-Cuban jazz, blues, hard bop, Latin tango, country, pop and folk follow one another through the summer, the Doris Lavin Trio Cubano, the Crazy Alligators, Soler Y Mora, the New Bop Trio or the Jazz Nomades. It is the discreet counterpoint to the festival below: no box office, no poster, a terrace facing Lake Geneva and a hat going round. In bad weather the concert may be cancelled or postponed.
