Emmanuel Gétaz: from Cully Jazz to Montreux Jazz
Two festivals, one man
In 1983, aged seventeen, Emmanuel Gétaz founded with his friend Daniel Thentz the Cully Jazz Festival, in Lavaux. He chaired its committee for twenty years, then the Fondation Lavaux-Cully-Jazz.
In 1991 he became the right-hand man of Claude Nobs at the Montreux Jazz Festival, where he was appointed director of production and finance in 1993; he put its accounts back in order until his departure in 1998.
Film producer
After Montreux, Emmanuel Gétaz devoted himself to documentary film. With his company Dreampixies, he co-wrote and produced notably “Viramundo”, a musical journey with Gilberto Gil (2013), as well as portraits of Jean Ziegler and Derib.
