Unveiled in 2013, this bust of the German composer Richard Strauss is the work of Montreux sculptor Bernard Bavaud, donated by the association of Friends of Richard Strauss. It stands on the Quai de Vernex, in front of the Auditorium Stravinski, facing the bust of Miles Davis by the same sculptor. Strauss stayed regularly in Montreux, like many great classical musicians drawn by the mildness of the Riviera. He notably worked during his stays at the Montreux Palace.
