Head thrown back in laughter, hands on a bronze keyboard: the bust of Ray Charles captures the genius of soul in his element. The work of Marco Zeno, donated by Barbara J. Riley to Claude Nobs, it recalls the four concerts “The Genius” gave at the Montreux Jazz Festival: on 13 July 1978 and on 16 and 17 July 1991 at the Casino, then on 19 July 1997 at the Auditorium Stravinski. His name is engraved on the keys of the keyboard.
